Grow Your Blog - Welcome!!

Today I am participating in the Grow Your Blog put on by Vicki at 2 Bags Full.

So if you're visiting from there - or from anywhere - WELCOME!  I'm so happy you've stopped by.  If this is your first time stopping by, I want to quick introduce myself.  My name is Melissa and I spend my days working in the stressful life of Finance.  But thanks to my grandmothers I have inherited the love of sewing and quilting!  I'm not sure if I follow all of the quilting "rules", I just kind of do my own thing and make it up as I go.  Which is a great way to just escape my day job!  (You can also read a little more about me here - About Me.  I also love quotes, so when i find a good one I like to share on Mondays - because Monday can be yucky enough - and we could all use a little more happiness or motivation to get through the first day of the week :)

One other thing you'll see around my blog is that I like to bake, and also LOVE using my slow-cooker. I love the idea of throwing everything in the slow-cooker and when I get home at night - an awesome dinner is ready!  So you can check out some of my favorite recipes as well!

Currently I'm working on making 2 baby quilts from the Moda High Street line, using this Jelly Roll.  I really really love this fabric, and as a lover of pink it hits that sweet spot for me!  :)

However, the first quilt I am working on is a simple stripe featuring the yellow, orange, greens, and greys from the Jelly Roll.  I may not understand it - but I have to keep telling myself, Melissa not everyone is as obsessed with pink as you are!  LOL  Although that means I have the rest of the roll (heavy on the pink!) for my next project which will be coming up next!

Spring Stripes Layed Out

I hope you've enjoyed learning a little more about me and seeing what I'm working on. I'm hoping to meet some new friends, and to share a little pink love. I will be holding a giveaway of something pink and fun - winner being chosen on February 15th.  To enter, you do not need to be a follower of MyMeller - just leave a comment below & a way to get ahold of you if you are the winner.  Good luck, and now I'm off to check out some of the other blogs participating in the Grow Your Blog party.  I do have to share with you this cute pic of our dog Mr. C - very upset that I woke him up to take a picture, but I still think he's quite the handsome boy!

  3. Hi Melissa, I am visiting from GYB. I too am a quilter who loves to use my slow cooker. If I use the slow cooker it means I have more time to quilt when I get home from work and spend less time in the kitchen! I put a link to your blob on mine, so I can see what you are up to!
